I had THE BEST time at the club! This past Tuesday I went, and when I got there a girl immediately came up to me and asked for my help with her homework!  We did math (which was grueling, I admit...she did NOT enjoy converting pounds into ounces) and made stars out of pipe cleaners.  Another girl came up to us and made the stars, broke the stars, and remade the stars.  When both of those girls left, another girl let me read with her about wolves; she knew everything about them before we read about it!  It was generally a great day.

As I have been thinking about what I could share on the blog, a ton of memories and experiences have flooded my memory.  I have been going to the club since January of last year and I have absolutely loved it.  Over the last 14 months I have come to know and love the kids at the club.  One of the most special experiences I have had was with a little boy named Luis.  One day we went on a field trip to the BYU bowling alley.  As I was bowling with the kids, many of the little ones were struggling just to roll the ball.  Most of their balls ended up in the gutter.  Some of the kids expressed frustration over this, however, Luis had a good perspective.  After he bowled a bowl directly into the gutter he turned around and said to me, "It's alright, I still get a free soda".  This experience and many others have shown me how these small children can offer us insights examples of Christlike attributes.  Just as I learned from the optimism of Luis, I know all the kids can teach me about Christ.

It's fun when other people think you're cool...

Last week was an awesome experience! I usually attend on Thursday afternoon and this particular Thursday Elijah came up and asked me to read him a comic book. Having three brothers growing up, I had developed a love for comic books so I was more that willing. It wasn't long before several of the little boys in Cambria's class were soon gathered around, entranced with the story. I must admit it was more fun than I've had in a long time and when I had to leave none of them wanted me to go. Who knew my Incredible Hulk impersonation would come in handy one day? AAAGH. DONT MAKE HULK ANGRY.
